Maya and Blue Ivy
Maya reflects on her third stay-away show, sharing her achievements, funny moments, and what makes her partnership with Blue Ivy special. It’s clear to see Maya had a great time and that’s not all she gained! They placed top 5 in the Open 80cm and left with x2 qualifications for National Championship in August! We can’t wait to see more of this exciting pair!
How did it feel to do your first ever 90cm?
It was very exciting and fun but mostly funny because I knew the course and when I went in I forgot number 2 and had to circle back.
What part of the course did you find trickiest and the easiest?
I found the turns on the walls the trickiest and I found the single fences quite easy. It was a tough course!
What is your favourite jump to jump?
I really like oxers because blue jumps them really smoothly. I also really like a combination, but I havent jumped one at a show yet - hopefully I will soon.
What do you think is Blue Ivy’s favourite (type of) jump?
The really bold and scary ones, when he goes over them he gives a weeee like feeling.
Describe Blue Ivy in 3 words
Kind, honest and brave
What are your nicknames for your ponies?
Blue Blue and Brookie
What would you like to de better/improve at your next show?
I would like to improve my speed and steering and keeping my leg a bit more steady.
